Mobilis Győr is a science centre established as a public education institute as part of the Széchenyi University. It presents the fields of science closely related to the city’s higher education and economy in an understandable and interactive way. Responding to the challenges of the age, the need arose to design a new department, the MOBILITY digital experience centre, that, as part of the institute, will create a learning environment for digital education, for young and old. The concept of the 300m2 space is determined by the learning methods and the environment. The layout called “open classroom” in the international terminology is a room with an area of more classrooms, where 50-100 students can study simultaneously, visually and acoustically partially separated from each other. The classroom consists of zones separated by the dramaturgy of the project-based education. The first one is the democratic circle of initiation. Those who want to learn, get to know each other and the course of the lesson in the middle of the square, on a circular carpet, sitting on bean bags. After being divided into groups, teams of 6-12 persons work with two helpers in different sessions. The virtual reality zone is provided by VR pavilions on 4 venues. The back of the pavilion is a huge storage cabinet, where all electrical devices can be stored, charged and saved. The zone of programming is where people work at round tables, in groups. The smart home is where everyday things get digital accessories, while the 3D pavilion is about printing and the Lego pavilion is about preparing robots and animations.The interior design is divided into boxes bordering and absorbing the zones. The aluminium hollow section boxes are covered with expanded plates of the same material, so they remain visually transparent. The layout follows the original structure of the Mobilis building – dividing the open classroom with flowing spaces. The natural metal surfaces are made playful by coloured textiles, bean bags and foiled surfaces. In its general effect the interior arouses a high-tech and cosy feeling at the same time. The huge amount of cables required for the devices are placed inside a visible, blue-coloured hose, further decorating the space – so the operation and the connection becomes explainable.

CAN Architects was founded in 2017 on the shared passion of András Cseh, József Élő, Szilárd Köninger, Dávid Németh and Ádám Tátrai with our focus on the connecting network of architecture and community. ‘Share the table’ is the spatial attitude of our collective, where we all bring our various professional and personal interests and human relationships together, from research through education to design and forth. We enjoy exploring new possibilities and responsibilities of our architectural profession through developing our own, community-based design (CAN Story Design), social (faluÉPÍTÉS) and education (CAN EDU) initiatives and methods.
